Well, there are a lot of reasons. I wouldn’t want to relive stagflation and Vietnamization . As long as you’re dragging out the time machine, go back to a less contentious time.

Imagining a restomod for this. Shove a new mustang turbo 2.3L in it with the manual transmission , upgrade the suspension, fuel cell for safety, and watch everyone get really confused about it.

Interesting question. FF Formula Ford uses the 1.6 which was probably in base models. I wonder if they even used it this an autotrans. T he Pinto offered the 2 liter which is FC Formula Continental. The 2.3 which is the most common Pinto motor was only u sed in the breadvan....
